Q: If I have some symptoms that I am worried about when exercising, can I come there for testing?
A: No, we do not perform clinical/diagnostic testing. You should consult with your physician who can refer you to a cardiologist or a clinical exercise testing lab. The testing that we conduct in our lab is only for exercise training prescription purposes. The test will provide you with information about fitness level and maximal heart rate.
Q: Do you take insurance?
A: Since this is not a clinical lab performing diagnostic testing, we do not bill insurance.
Q: Do I need to avoid food or exercise before my tests?
A: For the resting metabolic rate test (RMR), you need to be fasted for 12 hours. Do not have any food or caffeine or exercise the morning before the test; and no hard exercise or heavy exertion on the evening before the test.
For the Bod Pod or other body composition tests, you cannot eat or exercise for 2 hours prior to the test.
It is advised to avoid a heavy meal prior to any of the exercise tests.
